Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, is a method of obtaining images from inside the human body using of high-frequency sound waves. The reflected sound wave echoes are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image on TV screen which you will be able to see. No ionizing radiation (x-ray) or injected substances are is involved in ultrasound imaging. Ultrasound is painless, harmless and provides rapid assessment of your body.
Ultrasound is a useful way of examining many of the your internal organs, including the heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys and bladder. Because ultrasound images are captured in real time, they can show movement, enabling physicians to see blood flow, cardiac and fetal motion.
